Missing from my history lesson…

I stumbled across this photographer one day and after reading more about him and his work, discovered that a huge chapter of my history lesson, through out all my years in school, was missing! Jame Van Der Zee actually initiated a lesson on the Harlem Renaissance (a cultural movement in the 1920s and 1930s) through the images he captured. And even though this time was very poignant in American History, it is still an important part of Black History and Art History alike, because of its national and international influence.
